Auth Bypass: A configuration caching side-effect caused the JWT decoding secret to be initialized as nil, which silently disabled signature verification and allowed arbitrary JWTs to bypass authentication.
Auth Bypass: Using ActiveRecord's 'find' method caused an unhandled RecordNotFound exception when a JWT subject user no longer existed, crashing the authentication middleware context rather than returning nil for a clean authentication failure.
